When lower jaw growth is inadequate, there will be a discrepancy between your upper and lower jaw, as well as your bite and facial profile.
We will first bond braces, move your teeth into an ideal position and once the teeth are ready we will send you for jaw surgery. The oral surgeon will sever an area in the back portion of your lower jaw, then slide your jaw forward. Once the surgeon determines the ideal position, a titanium plate will be screwed into place to keep your jaw stable.
When healed, finishing improvements will be made with your braces. After your braces are removed, your bite and jaw relationship will be ideal as well as a more balanced facial profile.
